A dedicated, sustainable funding source for the nonprofits building permanent affordable supportive housing across Arizona — since 2019.
The Arizona Housing Fund is a collaborative fund of the Arizona Community Foundation (EIN: 86-0348306). We exist as a dedicated and sustainable revenue source that grants funding to the nonprofit agencies that build and operate permanent supportive, low-income and working poor housing.
Our equity grants enable more housing units to be constructed — meeting the growing needs of communities across Arizona and reducing the number of people experiencing homelessness.
AZHF was founded in 2019 and has grown into a network of 65+ partner organizations, granting more than $2.15 million to fund 500+ housing units to date.
"Arizona working together to make a difference — one closing, one lease application, one donation at a time."
Arizona's real estate industry drives this program. Homebuilders, developers, real estate agents & brokers, title companies, buyers and sellers all voluntarily participate at the close of escrow.
Example: Meritage Homes sells a home to the Jones Family. At closing, the Jones family donates $25 to AZHF. Meritage matches their donation dollar-for-dollar.
Multifamily housing companies donate $5 per rental application to AZHF. Rental applicants and residents can also choose to participate — turning everyday housing transactions into lasting community investment.
Ask to your property manager: "Does your company participate in the AZHF Lease Application Program?" Companies can enroll at any time.
Individuals, families, public and private foundations, nonprofit and for-profit corporations, community groups and government bodies give directly to AZHF. All donations are tax-deductible and go directly toward building more housing units.
